What is Proto ATL?
A gathering of designers, publishers, playtesters and anyone interested in learning about board game design. Games in all stages of completion are welcome. You’ll have the opportunity to play test your designs many times throughout the weekend. Network and create new business contacts and friends!

If you are in the game industry, this is THE place to be to network with everyone. Show a display of your artwork! Game maker? Show your product!
How does it work?
Proto ATL uses a free-flowing, protospiel-type format. Buy a badge, enter the ballroom, sit at a table, and either layout your prototype to play, or sit down to join a game. Play your game for 20-30 minutes, then play someone else's!
We encourage you to bring sell sheets and signage, and to list your prototype on our online database.
There is no formal structure to the event, other than having a room filled with tables for everyone to use. Of course, taking time to network, talk shop, grab a meal, etc., with those you meet is highly encouraged as well.
We will have a schedule of seminars and workshops, plus networking and dine-together events!

Eligibility rules:

Prototype must not be under offer for publications with an established Publisher

The winner must agree to sell on Gamefound

Winning prizes may not be transferred to another person or used on a different game besides that which won the Proto ATL design award.

Participants must purchase a Designer Badge for Proto ATL 2025.
